IELTS official test – 4th -

I’ve been studying IELTS almost for 1 year now… It’ ashamed I haven’t achived 7.0 yet.

I am taking an official test on 22nd of May. It is going to be my 4th challenge. I gatta focus on doing practice tests as much as possible for the next 3 weeks.

Here is what I got so far and what was the reason I couldn’t get 7.0, to remind me and motivate myself.

[June 2, 2007 - 5.5/6.0/5/5]
Just lack of general English skills and too much nervousness.

[Sep 8, 2007 - 6.5/6.5/6.5/6.5]
It’s almost 7.0!!!, but…I failed it in fact.
2 main highways to get a test centre were closed and I got nervous before the test.
I also didn’t use complex structures and advanced vocabraries… At this test, I realised that I gatta use higher level English, otherwise score 7.0 would never come to me.

[Dec 1, 2007 - 6.5/6.5/6.0/5.5]
My b.f’s car didn’t start and I used a taxi to get a test place. I was alomost crying.
Spelling misstakes in listening section and failed at time management in reading and writing, because checking a watch was not allowed at the time. I still wonder why they did that. They let candidates use watches before that…
I felt my speaking section was the best I’ve ever had…but the score totally disappointed me. 5.5 was ridicurous in that condition.

…………………………………………..

After quite an absence, I finally decided to try it again. Due to the expensive test fee ($275), I was waiting until I got enough confidence. I still don’t have strong confidence, but it’s time to challenge the test again. Anyway, I will see my current skills and I wanna see it in actual test.

Quota

My sales quota is $20,000…I was told from a manager.

It means I gatta have $1,000 sales x everyday (20days), or $2,000 sales every two days.

I have to achive that in somehow with my poor English skills…

Renovation & Landscape

I’m now working on a renovation for the showroom and a minor landscape for outside the store. What I gatta do on this weekend is finishing drawings to get a permission from the city and construction details for a kitchen company. These are similar to my previous job I used to do in Japan.

I checked drawings of an architect when the store was renovated. I need exact dimentions and levels because the city require accurate drawings in scale. However, no levels in the drawings…maybe because it’s for an inside renovation. So, I roughly measured levels at each point based on the origin I decide. I don’t know this way is gonna work or not. Anyway, I have to do somehow. Next meeting is coming on Monday.

a trade show

I’ve passed a busy day, but it will finish tomorrow and calm down, hopefully.

Perticipating a trade show is my first experience. It’s so great opportunity. I’ve learned so many things and I will see what’s gonna happen at the show and what kind of problems we will have over there. I prepared some stuff with my guess but Im really not sure if it is enough. I will see the result of the preparations. This is so exiciting and fun!

If I go back to Japan and work in the same industory, I want to manage all proccesses for a show. This experience will definitely work well, not only domestic but also international.

Thank you for giving me this break! ;)
